Terms of Service
These terms describe how the Skillhearth community works and what we ask of every member.
This is a starting template written by the operator of this app. Have it reviewed before relying on it as a legal agreement.
1. Using Skillhearth
Skillhearth is a community platform where members list skills they can teach and skills they want to learn, then arrange one-for-one swaps. You must be able to form a binding agreement in your jurisdiction to create an account.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your profile and for keeping your login credentials secure.
2. No money changes hands
Swaps on Skillhearth are lesson-for-lesson. Skillhearth does not process payments, hold funds, or act as an escrow between members. Asking for payment, tips, or fees in exchange for a swap is not permitted.
3. Member conduct
Treat other members with respect. Do not post content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, deceptive, or that infringes someone else's rights.
Do not impersonate others, scrape the platform, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts or systems.
You can report posts, comments, and members from within the app, and block members you do not wish to interact with.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the profile details, posts, images, messages, and reviews you upload. By posting, you grant Skillhearth a licence to host and display that content in the app so the platform can function.
You are responsible for having the rights to anything you upload.
5. Sessions happen offline
Skillhearth helps you find a match and schedule a session, but sessions take place between members directly. Skillhearth does not verify member skills, run background checks, or supervise sessions. Use your judgement when arranging where and how to meet.
6. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or remove accounts that breach these terms or put other members at risk. You can stop using Skillhearth and request deletion of your account at any time.
7. Disclaimers and liability
Skillhearth is provided on an as-is basis. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the conduct of members, the quality of any lesson, or losses arising from arrangements made between members.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app, and continuing to use Skillhearth after an update means you accept the revised terms.
